The brief
Julie's work spans research, teaching, heritage walks and writing, and it was scattered across a CV, conference papers and Instagram. She needed one place where a hiring committee, a student or a collaborator could see all of it, in the order an academic reads: who she is, what she researches, how she teaches, and what she has written.
What I built
I set the site like a journal rather than a portfolio template. Six sections (About, Research, Pedagogy, Writing, CV, Contact) run down one page, each marked with a section sign so it reads like a paper. Cormorant Garamond carries the reading text, and Inconsolata handles labels, dates and navigation the way footnotes would. Warm paper and a single rust accent keep the focus on the words.
- Featured research gets a sidebar with role, institution, period and method, so the facts sit next to the prose.
- Academic initiatives and guided theses run side by side with dates, so the teaching record reads as a timeline.
- Every paper and article links out to where it was published.
- The CV lives on the page and as a PDF download.
- The research section links straight into the HOA exhibition site, which I also built.

Outcome
One link Julie can share for applications, conferences and students, with her research, teaching and writing in one place. It reads the same on a phone as on a desktop.
